Acrylic Painting/Collage Workshop
In this acrylic/mixed media collage class you will learn techniques to give depth and definition to your still life while adding objects to your piece to give a one of a kind 3-dimensional effect. All materials provided including your choice of 11 x 14 or 16 x 20 canvas. You can also bring your own fabric or paper to incorporate into your painting if you like.

Relay for Life Sweetheart Dinner

Intro to Open Pottery Studio
Become acquainted with the studio and learn the basics of working with clay. Then, come to any Open Studio to work on your own and practice your skills. $40 per person, includes basic, personalized instruction and enough clay for a couple projects.

In this 2-Session pottery workshop students will handbuild clay bowls from textured soft slabs using templates as a guide. Students will learn how to modify and make their own templates, and will also learn ways to treat and decorate the rim. The second session will be for glazing the fired pieces. Class Fee: $49 - includes all materials and firing (Register by Wed., Feb. 15).

Chefs compete to see who prepares the best gumbo on the beach! Gumbo sold by contestants with revenues going to the Special Events for Mexico Beach- July 4th Celebration.

Pottery Workshop- "Date Night"
Bring your loved one - or just yourself! - for a fun evening of hand-building in clay. No experience is necessary. We'll serve complimentary hors d'oeuvres. You may bring the beverage of your choice. Class fee: $45.00 per person or $80.00 for two - includes all materials and firing. (Final glazing of your projects can be done at no extra charge, during any Open Studio.) Kids’ Holiday Workshop – “Luck O’ the Irish”
Drop your kids off at the Artery while you “Shop, Dine and Unwind”. Children (grades K-6) hand- build a clay mug, add a handle, shamrocks and other Leprechaun embellishments and then glaze. Mugs will be kiln fired and available for pick up on March 17 – St. Patty’s Day! Class Fee: $25 - includes all materials and firing.

The 12th Annual Mexico Beach Photography Contest will begin April 2 through July 27. All Photographs must be taken in Mexico Beach and submitted to the Mexico Beach Community Development Council by the deadline.

Mark your calendars for the 2012 Plein Air Paintout taking place May 3-13, 2012. Nationally recognized Plein air artists have been selected to capture the allure of the Florida's Forgotten Coast with paint and canvas. Artists will be painting on the beach, across the marsh, beside the lakes and throughout the streets of waterfront towns from Mexico Beach to Carrabelle.
