Mexico Beach Independence Day Best Blast on the Beach Celebration

Celebrate Best Blast on the Beach in style!  One of Mexico Beach’s highlighted events as the beach celebrates the Fourth of July.  Fun for the whole family, so come out and join us for a day filled with family, friends and hometown fun.  All events and activities will take place on July 4th.   

Best Blast on the Beach starts off early with the annual Sandy Shoe 5K Run/Walk.  Located at Under the Palms Park; 304 7th Street; between Georgia Avenue and Maryland Blvd. Participants from all ages line up and hit the back roads in this fun energetic 5K race.  Entry fee is only $10 (if signed up before July 3rd) and includes a t-shirt.  Day of race entry is only $15 and t-shirts are available while supplies last.  For more information or to sign up, please download the entry form by clicking here.  Come out and get a running start on the July 4th activities. 

   

Next, it's time for the annual Kid’s Fishing Tournament down at Canal Park.   Located at the end of Canal Parkway young anglers sink their lines in the Gulf for that one big bite.  This free tournament is for all anglers, ages 2-14, so bring your rod, reel and bait!  Registration opens at 9:30am and the tournament will begin shortly after until 11am.  Awards will be presented and lunch will be provided by the Special Events for Mexico Beach to all participants and their family members.  Parking for this event is located at the City Boat Ramp across Hwy 98. 

 

Then, it’s time for some R&R before the Best Blast on the Beach Firework Show.  This year's show will begin at 8:30pm and can be seen throughout Mexico Beach.  So, grab the family, lawn chairs, blankets, coolers and hit the beach to enjoy this great show and say "Happy Birthday America".  Due to safety, the City Pier will close on July 3rd and remain closed until after the firework show on July 4th.  Thank you for understanding!
