Mexico Beach Update

 Mexico Beach continues to welcome visitors to enjoy our destination. Our sugary white sand beaches are open for the enjoyment of our guests and, as of now, we have seen no impact as a result of the Deepwater Horizon off-shore oil spill.

The beaches aand water are clear and open for enjoyment.

In other news:

-Currently, Deepwater Horizon is not discharging any oil into the Gulf of Mexico.

-According to NOAA, tar balls DO NOTpose a health risk to the average person. However, beach-goers are advised not to pick them up or bury them and asked to report any sightings. Workers have begun the clean-up effort and officials continue to monitor the situation. To report any sightings of tar balls, or oil, please call (850) 248-6030. The beaches are open and the swimming is still safe.
